Elizabeth Buchanan Shands, along with her team, were invaluable in our recent property sale and purchase in the Austin area. Simultaneously we were selling a condo in Austin and purchasing a second home on the north shore of Lake Travis, which itself is a challenge. Added to that, our primary residence is in the Houston area, so we were working both of these issues long distance. Elizabeth and her team were always very responsive, being available at odd hours and working around our work and travel schedules. They met us on weekends when we could make it to town and were willing to communicate in whichever way(s) that were best for us – sometimes phone, sometimes texting, sometimes emailing – so that these two transactions could go smoothly. Elizabeth helped us price our condo at the appropriate but aggressive market price and optimize the timing so we were able to sell quickly. She also advised us in the home we bought, helping us negotiate a fair purchase price. Both Elizabeth and Meredith made sure to meet repairmen and inspectors when we couldn’t be there in person. They coordinated difficult issues with the condo sale related to last-minute closing questions by the lender and push-back on dates, negotiating a lease-back option for the buyer so that all of us were satisfied. They assisted in working with title companies on both the purchase of the lake house and the sale of the condo when one or both of us couldn’t make it to Austin to sign closing papers in person. They were friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and great to work with. We definitely would recommend Elizabeth and her team to others looking to purchase or sell property in the greater Austin area.
